My New Long Distance Blood Test Monitoring Program for Triathletes

In response to a number of requests, I have decided to offer blood test monitoring to those triathletes, runners, and cyclists that do not live in the Denver/Boulder, CO region. See my blog entry on Blood Test Monitoring for more information. This testing is an important aspect of training for Ironman distance triathletes and elite Half-Ironman distance triathletes, or anyone training intensely over 15 hours per week. It provides extremely valuable information to help with your training and ensure optimal performance come race day.

How It Works

The appropriate blood testing will be ordered from a lab nearby where you live. You then go to the lab and undergo a quick blood draw. The results are then faxed to me by the lab and you will receive an e-mail from me detailing the results and any interventions necessary.

Costs

There are several different batteries of tests depending on your level of competition. The costs of the tests depend entirely on what is necessary. Insurance will often cover the costs of many of the tests. The fees for my reads also depend on the tests performed, however rarely exceed $100 for the big initial panel. Routine bloodwork monitoring typically is only $50.
